Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has released a notification for various job vacancies in different groups and pay matrices as per the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC). This presents an excellent opportunity for candidates aspiring to work in the government sector. Note: UR refers to Unreserved category, EWS refers to Economically Weaker Section, SC refers to Scheduled Caste, ST refers to Scheduled Tribe, OBC refers to Other Backward Classes, ESM refers to Ex-Servicemen, PwBD refers to Persons with Benchmark Disability, VH refers to Visually Handicapped, HH refers to Hearing Handicapped, OH refers to Orthopedically Handicapped, and OTHERS refers to others not covered in the mentioned categories.

Eligibility Conditions:

Nationality

  • The candidate must have attained the age of majority on the last date of submission of the application.
  • A candidate must be either:
    • (a) A citizen of India, or
    • (b) A subject of Nepal, or
    • (c) A subject of Bhutan, or
    • (d) A Tibetan refugee who came over to India, before the 1st of January 1962, to permanently settle in India, or
    • (e) A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries, etc. to settle in India.
  • Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (b), (c), (d), and (e) above shall be a person in whose favor a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.

Application Fees Structure:

Application Fee ₹1,000/- for all categories of posts
Fee Exemption Women candidates, Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, PwBD & Ex-servicemen
Ex-servicemen Ex-servicemen who have secured employment in civil side under Central Government regularly after availing the benefits of reservation given to ex-servicemen are NOT eligible for fee concession. OBC/EWS candidates are required to pay the prescribed fee in full. 
Refund and Adjustment of Fee Fee once paid shall not be refunded under any circumstances, nor will it be adjusted against any other examination/selection. 
Mode of Remittance The application fee must be remitted through the specified mode as mentioned in the official notification. Transaction charges of the bank and applicable taxes shall be borne by the candidate.

How to Apply:

  1. Candidates can only apply online through the official website of DDA, which is www.dda.gov.in.
  2. Applications submitted through any other mode will not be accepted and will be rejected.
  3. To apply online, visit the DDA website and navigate to "Jobs" -> "Select Job Category" -> "Direct Recruitment 2023".
  4. No other mode of application submission will be accepted under any circumstances.
  5. After submitting the online application, candidates should take a printout of the submitted application for their reference.
  6. Candidates should not submit the printouts or any other documents to DDA by post or hand delivery.
  7. The printout of the online application form and supporting documents should be submitted during the verification of identity, documents, or interview if the candidate is shortlisted.
  8. Candidates should submit only a single online application for a single post. If multiple applications are submitted, only the application with the higher "Registration Number" will be considered, and the fee paid for other applications will not be adjusted.
  9. Once submitted, the application form cannot be modified, so candidates should ensure the correctness of the details before submission.
  10. Candidates are advised to apply online well in advance of the closing date to avoid any congestion or technical issues.
  11. Before applying online, candidates should:
  • Scan their photograph (4.5cm × 3.5cm) and signature, ensuring that the scanned image size meets the specified specifications.
  • Use their signature in regular case letters (not in capital letters) as uppercase signatures will not be accepted.
  • Ensure that the uploaded photographs and signatures are clear and legible; otherwise, their candidature may be canceled.
  • Keep the necessary details and documents ready for making the online payment of the application fee or intimation charges.
  • Have a valid personal email ID and mobile number, which should remain active throughout the recruitment process. DDA will communicate important updates and notifications only to the registered email ID and mobile number provided by the candidates.
  1. Candidates are responsible for ensuring their eligibility and must fulfill all the eligibility conditions mentioned in the notification. The candidature is provisional and subject to verification at various stages. If any discrepancies are found, the candidature may be canceled, and disciplinary action may be taken against the candidate.

Steps for Applying:

Step 1: Sign Up

  1. Candidates can apply online by visiting the DDA's official website at www.dda.gov.in and navigating to "Jobs" -> "Select Job Category" -> "Direct Recruitment 2023."
  2. On the instructions page, candidates need to accept the terms and conditions by clicking the 'I Agree' checkbox and pressing the 'Start' button.
  3. Candidates should sign up with a valid email ID and mobile number.
  4. A one-time password and login details will be sent to the provided email ID and mobile number. Candidates must verify the correctness of the email ID and mobile number before proceeding.

Step 2: Fill Online Form

  1. Candidates should log in using the provided login details and fill in all the required information in the online form accurately.
  2. Candidates should upload their photograph and signature.
  3. After filling in the details, candidates should click on the "Preview" tab to review the information. If there are any errors, they can be edited before finally clicking the "Submit" tab. However, certain details such as Email ID, Mobile Number, Candidate Name, and Post cannot be changed.
  4. After successful submission, candidates should download the generated online form with a unique registration number for future reference.

Step 3: Application Fee Payment

  1. After submitting the application form, candidates will be redirected to the SBI MOPS gateway for online payment of the application fee.
  2. Candidates should select the disclaimer checkbox and proceed. On the next screen, they should choose the category "DDA APPLICATION FEES 2023," and the relevant data will appear automatically.
  3. Candidates should verify the details and click on "Confirm."
  4. They will be taken to the payment gateway where they can select the appropriate mode of payment, such as internet banking, debit card, UPI, or QR code.
  5. Candidates should check the charges/commission applicable for the selected mode of payment and complete the payment to deposit the examination fee.
  6. The journal number or transaction number provided by the bank should be retained for future reference, and candidates should print the e-receipt for their records.
  7. Payment made through modes other than online will not be accepted, and applications with such payments will be rejected, forfeiting the payment made.

The duration is 1 hour. Stage-II: Session I includes Mathematical Abilities Reasoning & General Intelligence, while Session II includes English Language and Comprehension, General Awareness, and Computer Knowledge. There is also a Computer Knowledge test for 15 minutes and a Data Entry Speed Test (DEST) for qualifying purposes.
03 Architectural Assistant Single Stage computer-based examination The question paper will be of 2 hours duration with 120 marks. It will consist of 120 objective-type questions related to the respective discipline, as well as questions on reasoning, quantitative aptitude, general awareness, and English language.
04 Legal Assistant Single stage computer-based examination The question paper will be of 2 hours duration with 120 marks. It will consist of 120 objective type questions related to the respective discipline, as well as questions on reasoning, quantitative aptitude, general awareness, and English language.
05 Naib Tehsildar Single Stage computer-based examination The question paper will be of 2 hours duration with 120 marks. It will consist of 120 objective-type questions related to the respective discipline, as well as questions on reasoning, quantitative aptitude, general awareness, and English language.
06 Junior Engineer (Civil) Single stage computer-based examination The question paper will be of 2 hours duration with 120 marks. It will consist of 120 objective-type questions related to the respective discipline, as well as questions on reasoning, quantitative aptitude, general awareness, and English language.
07 Surveyor Single Stage computer-based examination The question paper will be of 2 hours duration with 120 marks. It will consist of 120 objective-type questions related to the respective discipline, as well as questions on reasoning, quantitative aptitude, general awareness, and English language.
08 Patwari 2-stage computer-based examination Stage I (Preliminary): General Awareness, General Intelligence & Reasoning Ability, Arithmetical & Numerical Ability, Hindi & English (Language & comprehension), and Basic Computer knowledge. Stage II (Mains): General Awareness (Special Emphasis on Delhi), General Intelligence & Reasoning Ability, Arithmetical & Numerical Ability, English Language & comprehension, Hindi or Urdu language and comprehension, Basic Computer knowledge.
09 Junior Secretariat Assistant Two-stage computer-based examination followed by typing test Stage-I: General Intelligence, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, and English Language. The duration is 1 hour. Stage-II: Session I includes Mathematical Abilities Reasoning & General Intelligence, while Session II includes English Language and Comprehension, General Awareness, and Computer Knowledge. There is also a Computer Knowledge test for 15 minutes and a Skill Test/Typing Test for qualifying purposes.

For the Post Code 02 (Assistant Section Officer):

  • Section-IV of Session II of Stage-II i.e. Data Entry Speed Test (DEST):
  • Section-IV of Session II of Stage-II will include conducting a Data Entry Speed Test (DEST) for 15 minutes in Session-II on the same day.
  • DEST will be mandatory; however, it will be qualifying in nature.
  • DEST will be conducted as per the instructions provided by the DDA, which will be uploaded on the DDA website.
  • OH candidates are eligible for exemption from attempting DEST if they submit a Certificate in the prescribed format (Annexure- 7, 8, 9) from the competent Medical Authority, i.e., the Civil Surgeon of a Government Health Care Institution, stating their permanent unfitness for the Typing Test due to a physical disability.
  • PwBD candidates eligible for scribes will be given an additional compensatory time of 5 minutes in DEST. Only VH candidates who opt for scribes in the written examination will be provided a passage reader during DEST.

For the Post Code 09 (Junior Secretariat Assistant) - Typing Test:

    • Section-IV of Session II of Stage-II will include conducting a Skill Test/Typing Test in Session-II on the same day. The Typing Test will be of qualifying nature.
    • The medium of Typing Test will be Hindi or English. Candidates must choose their preferred medium (Hindi or English) during the online Application Form submission.
    • The choice of Typing Test medium selected during the online Application Form will be considered final, and no changes will be allowed later.
    • Typing Tests will be conducted according to the instructions provided by the DDA, which will be uploaded on the DDA website.
    • Candidates eligible for scribes as per Para 2.11.1, 2.11.2, and 2.11.3 will be given a compensatory time of 5 minutes. Hence, the duration of the Typing Test for such candidates will be 15 minutes.
    • VH candidates who have opted for a scribe in the online Application Form will be provided with a Passage Dictator who will read out the passage within the allotted time.
    • Candidates with Disabilities who claim permanent unfitness for the Typing Test due to a physical disability must submit a Certificate in the prescribed format (Annexure- 7, 8, 9) from the competent Medical Authority, i.e., the Civil Surgeon of a Government Health Care Institution, to seek exemption from the Typing Test. The relevant Medical Certificate must be furnished at the time of the Typing Test to support the claim. Otherwise, the DDA will not entertain the claim for exemption from the Typing Test.

Preparation of Merit:

    • The minimum qualifying marks for different categories are as follows:
      • UR: 40%
      • SC: 30%
      • ST: 30%
      • OBC(NCL): 35%
      • EWS: 35%
    • DDA may provide further relaxation in minimum qualifying marks for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBDs) at its discretion.
    • The merit list for each post will be prepared separately based on the marks obtained by candidates in the Computer Based Examination and the interview (if applicable).
    • In case of a tie in scores, the following criteria will be applied in the given order until the tie is resolved:
      • Date of birth, with the older candidate ranked higher.
      • Alphabetical order of the candidates' names.
  • For the post of Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA):

    • The minimum qualifying marks in Stage-I and Section-I, Section-II, and Section-III of the Stage-II Examination are as follows:
      • UR: 40%
      • OBC/EWS: 35%
      • SC/ST: 30%
    • Candidates will be shortlisted based on the marks obtained in Stage-I to appear in Stage-II Examination.
    • Stage-II Examination will be conducted for all candidates qualified in Stage-I.
    • It is mandatory for candidates to qualify in all sections of Stage-II.
    • Candidates will be shortlisted for the evaluation of Section-III and Section-IV of the Stage-II Examination based on their aggregate performance in Section-I and Section-II.
    • Section-III and Section-IV of Stage-II are qualifying in nature, meaning both the Computer Knowledge Test and Skill Test/Typing Test are qualifying but mandatory.
    • The merit list will be prepared based on the overall performance of candidates in the Stage-II Examination.
  • For the post of Assistant Section Officer (ASO):

    • The minimum qualifying marks in Stage-I and Section-I, Section-II, and Section-III of the Stage-II Examination are as follows:
      • UR: 40%
      • OBC/EWS: 35%
      • SC/ST: 30%
    • Candidates will be shortlisted based on the marks obtained in Stage-I to appear in Stage-II Examination.
    • Stage-II Examination will be conducted for all candidates shortlisted in Stage-I.
    • It is mandatory for candidates to qualify in all sections of Stage-II.
    • Candidates will be shortlisted for the evaluation of Section-III and Section-IV of the Stage-II Examination based on their aggregate performance in Section-I and Section-II.
    • Section-III and Section-IV of Stage-II are qualifying in nature, meaning both the Computer Knowledge Test and Data Entry Speed Test (DEST) are qualifying in nature.
    • The merit list will be prepared based on the overall performance of candidates in the Stage-II Examination.
  • For the post of Patwari:

    • Candidates will be shortlisted based on the marks obtained in Stage-I to appear in Stage-II Examination.
    • The final merit for the selection of candidates will be prepared based on the marks obtained in the Stage-II examination only.

Conclusion:
